Barnyard Storytime

boy with cow, farm animals, baby cow, farm kid, calf, dairy calf, kid with cow, child with cow

Come out to the farm for story time!

We will read a couple farm picture books in the Farmers Market Shop. After story time, Mindy will pass out treats for guests to feed the cows and chickens.

Barnyard Story Time is planned typically the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at 10:20 am, visit the 2021 calendar to see all of the planned dates.

Things to know:

-It takes about 20 min from southeast Lincoln to get to the farm. Please make sure everyone potties before they come as the farm store does not have restroom facilities.

-The farm store will be open and accepts cash and cards for payment when that bacon or handmade local decor grabs your eye.

-Feel free to bring an outdoor chair or blanket to sit on the grass for story time. You are welcome to bring a snack along!

-There are only nice roosters at LRF. Our firm belief is that everyone can be kind or leave...even the roosters.

-Chickens don't like to be chased, they think you are a predator that is going to eat them. When we are calm the chickens will come right up to eat a treat and are very fun to interact with! Chicken chasers will be asked to leave.

-We have two large dogs that are very friendly and love to be petted. They will most likely greet you at your car when you arrive. Give them a little love and they will gladly show you around the farm!

-Please have your child wear clothes and footwear that can get dirty, this is a farm after all. This is an outdoor event.

-The fences are there to keep you and the animals safe. The silver wire fencing has an electric pulse running through it and will shock you. It kinda hurts but you'll live, and probably wish someone else had tried it before you did. Please do not climb fences, open closed doors, or go into buildings or animal areas. That is their place to feel safe and be free to act how their instincts tell them.

-This is our home and a working farm. Guests are welcome in the inner yard and shop during open hours. The house and buildings are private and equipment is for work, not play. During non-shop hours the farm and farmers are working. Please stay off the property outside of store hours.

-The Little Red Farm may take photos or video at this event. We share these on social media. Please feel free to tag us in any photos or videos you want to share from The Little Red Farm.
