If you have wrapped up especially greasy items, you might need to take a drop or two of dish soap and wash them carefully by hand. These will l6ast for years with proper care. Keep them from extreme heat, like a hot July day when you're covering your watermelon at the picnic, as the wrap will get a little soft in the sun.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey CAN leave a little residue of medium on your dishes that is easily rinsed off by hand in the sink. But usually leave no trace.   If you're wrap starts to get old and flaky or the medium isn't dispersed as well, you can refresh it by putting it between 2 pieces of parchment paper with a warm iron. Never put in the microwave, the dish washer or a washing machine. Place them in your food storage drawers by your Tupperware and your plastic wrap. They also do well in the freezer.  If you want to cut your wraps into a circle or down to a smaller size, simply use a pair of scissors. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe love these for wrapping anything from the half of an apple my kid didn't eat; an onion, lettuce or greens left over from making a salad; the other half of the melon; bowls of leftovers; artisan bread, cheese and so much more.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI am not touting at all that we have to stop using plastic wrap.  We just all need to do a little better in our use of single use plastic. They are much thicker and much more of the special coating on them. Made with Beeswax, tree resin and jojoba oil, these easily last 5 years or more and are then compostable or a great firestarter.
